I am driven by an unwavering commitment to addressing the birth inequities in maternal and infant health, especially prevalent within the black community. As a passionate doula and lactation service provider, I founded Haven Place Doulas fueled by a personal encounter with the heartbreaking statistics of maternal mortality rates among black women. Witnessing this, I felt an urgent need to take action. My mission transcends mere care provision; it's about empowering and educating black women and families, enabling them to navigate and advocate within a complex healthcare system.
