For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a part of the medical field. I would watch tv shows and movies and read books to learn more about it and what different areas the medical field has to offer. When I came to the realization that I had a passion for delivering babies, I decided that becoming a doula was one step in how I was going to bring my passion to fruition. I wanted to be a part of something greater than myself and my mom suggested that I attend a live birth. She told me that “what better way to know if this is what you really want, then to be there for your own mother”. To most people, it would probably be a bit strange to see your own mother in this way, but I was overjoyed for the opportunity. I was finally going to see what the talk was about and what happens when the circle of life begins. Labor and delivery have always fascinated me because of how precious and fragile little babies are. When I saw my mother give birth to my little sister, I realized that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I became a doula because I want to be able to support women through this beautiful and natural process. I believe that every birth is special and unique and that every woman who desires additional support and encouragement should receive that. Every woman who experiences it should be able to look back and know that they had a team of people on their side during their birth. To me, birth is not routine and each person who experiences it- goes through something different. Whether it be a joyous occasion or one someone would soon rather forget, I believe in meeting each woman at the point of their need and helping them get through it safely and collaboratively as possible.

As your doula, I will bring compassion, kindness, support, and faith to your birth. I believe that God knew exactly what He was doing when He created birth and childbearing. I believe in you and I trust that God will guide us through the birth of you and beyond. You are in the driver’s seat and I am your happy passenger as we reach the destination of the birth of your new life. I believe that every child is a gift from God and that the mothers who carry them are beyond blessed and highly favored.
